The month of February is always a busy time here at Montessori & Music Daycare Center as we have a celebration each week.
Groundhog Day: We start the month off by celebrating Groundhog Day on Friday, February 2nd. Will the groundhog see his shadow? Will we have six more weeks of winter? They will find out when the teachers take the children outside to check on their own shadows.
National Wear Red Day: Friday, February 2nd is National Wear Red Day. We do this in support of raising awareness of heart disease in America.
Wear Your Favorite Jersey: We will wear a jersey for our favorite sports team as we begin to celebrate the super bowl weekend.
Valentine’s Day: Each class will have a valentine’s day party on February 14th. They will have healthy snacks and share valentines with the other children in the classroom. The primary classes are learning songs for that day.
President’s Day: On this day, the children will learn about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln as we celebrate President's Day on Monday, February 19th.
Dr. Seuss Week: We close out the month of February by celebrating Dr. Seuss Week. We will have an entire week of celebration, coloring Dr. Seuss pictures, wearing our favorite Dr. Seuss clothing, and reading many of the books written by Dr. Seuss. These are books that children love to read year around. We celebrate the legacy of Dr. Seuss and the many children’s books he has written.
