October 2023

We love fall here at Montessori & Music Daycare Center! The children are learning about pumpkins, the leaves turning colors, and of course, Halloween is always on their minds.

We have a busy schedule ahead of us, but it will be fun filled as we celebrate fall. On the 13th, we will have Pajama Day. The children love coming to school in their pajamas, and they bring a book to enjoy. They will share their books from home and the teachers will read some of them to the class. This will correlate with Children’s Book Week, which we are celebrating in the class from October 4-15. Some of the classes are learning about the library and even making library cards for their class. We promote reading and the love of books here at MMDC. Children who read have very creative minds.

October 8th-14th is Fire Prevention Week. We will be practicing our monthly fire drill as well as talking to the children about fire safety and prevention.

The Primary 1 & 2 classes have been working hard on learning some fall/Halloween songs for the upcoming Halloween Parade in the gym on the 30th. We had so much fun last year as the children paraded around in their Halloween costumes, sang, had their pictures taken, and danced with their parents. The Two’s have been busy making Halloween decorations. They made bats for their room and put “googly eyes” on them.

We have had several new children enroll in the daycare and are excited to have them join the MMDC family. We have also welcomed new additions to our already existing families. Our infant room is full and overflowing with a waiting list!

Welcome to all of the new children and families!
